Introduction

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, the largest and the most advanced phone is here with advanced artificial intelligence. It's among a new wave of Android phones that provide sophisticated assistance for writing, drawing, photography and chatting by merging Google's AI assistance.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 Ultra in January 2025 and its current price is approx $1783.72. But is this phone really worth the price tag? Let's dig deeper.

Design

Let's talk about its looks first – the phone has gotten slimmer and lighter, but its boxy classic design remains the same. Despite the large 6.9-inch display, the phone feels comfortable in the hand.
The titanium frame and Gorilla Armor 2 glass make it sturdy, while the matte back and thin bezels add a premium feel. Also, the display's anti-reflective coating makes you feel less rumbling even in bright light or sunlight.

Display

  • The 6.9-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X panel offers QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
  • The peak brightness of 2600nits makes it clear even in bright light outdoors.
  • HDR10+ support and developer options make it even more attractive for videos and gaming.
  • A bit flat in first home conditions, but improved after changing the settings.

Performance

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, which is a heavy hitter for flagship-class gaming and multitasking. The 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage are more than adequate for handling—making it easy to run large apps and games without lag.
Whether you open tabs in Chrome or play high-end games—the phone runs smoothly, although some users noted that Chrome sometimes stutters while Samsung's browser runs smoother.

Camera

  • Hardware
  • 200MP wide sensor (f/1.7)
  • 50MP ultrawide, 10MP (3x), and 50MP periscope (5x) telephoto lenses

Visual experience

  • During the day, the main camera delivers detail and colour accuracy.
  • Ultrawide also performs strongly.
  • Telephoto zoom is stable at 3x and 5x, but the 100x "Space Zoom" doesn't deliver the clarity one would expect.

Low-light, portraits, and video

  • Nightography and ProVisual AI processing ensure that photos are not bad even in low light.
  • Edge detection in portrait mode is great—different reviewers say so.
  • Video is supported up to 8K@30fps, and 4K@120fps, and AI enhancements like Audio Eraser and LOG recording are also present.

What's not good in the camera?

  • Low-light noise and autofocus were found to be a bit weak in videos
  • AI audio tools fail in some moods.

Battery and Charging

The 5000mAh battery offers around 1.5 days of standalone life with approx 3.8 hours of screen time! However, charging speeds remain slow—it takes over 2 hours for a full charge, while competitors charge in 30–40 minutes.

Software and AI

  • The Android 15-based One UI 7 features a tight integration of AI features—tools like Gemini AI, Now Bar, Sketch to Image, and AI Select are available.
  • Galaxy AI is now integrated into the on-screen power button as well, making the virtual assistance experience more intuitive and natural.
  • However, some users find the interface changes a bit confusing—for instance, the always-on notification icons seem small.

Overall, it gives One UI a fresh look, while offering slight improvements over older capabilities.

So, is this the phone for you?

What's good

  • Professional-grade camera and video recording
  • AI-based features like Audio Eraser, Gemini AI
  • Great display and performance
  • Sturdy and premium design

Where it misses

  • Charging is slow
  • Bluetooth support removed from the S Pen
  • Some AI features can be inconsistent

Who's best for

  • Content creators, professionals and tech lovers who want the camera and AI tools.
  • Those who want a phone that is capable of delivering updates and a durable design, now and for years to come.

If you're looking for a powerful, AI-enabled and camera-centric flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is the strongest contender yet—but buy with full power and price knowledge.
